Beatrice ‘Tilly’ Shilling, honoured on 25th May 2019

We were proud to have been present at one of Farnborough’s most fascinating former residents, Beatrice ‘Tilly’ Shilling, honoured on 25th May when The Farnborough Society unveiled a blue plaque at the house where she lived in Ashley Road between 1938 and 1955.

we had a great day at the Donkey Derby and it was well attended.

We would like to congratulate and welcome our new member of Team Knellwood Cllr Calum Stewart for getting elected. Calum is one of our youngest councillors. We look forward working and achieving many things for our ward residents together.

Abbey Way

Apologies, this is a late update. It was meant to be up a number of months ago - As your Councillors we tried the best we could to get some alterations done along Abbey Way. This went on for months but our highway engineers concluded that its not feesable to do anything at this stage but, please keep letting us know about any issues that are happening there and in the future if there is a strong case to revisit the issue we will do so.
Yesterday Paul and I spent our morning at Knellwood House with our own RBC Chief Executive Paul Shackley. We were given a tour around the home and had the opportunity to meet the staff and some of their residents. I was really impressed about how they keep everyone engaged. Everyone we met seemed really happy and well looked after. I must finish by saying - Thank you and well done to the staff for all what you do for our elderly residents.

Future of our town centre

Important! Your chance to help us shape the new Farnborough Civic Quarter is now here.

Today and Saturday there are public drop-in events in Princes Mead and the Leisure Centre.  These will show what is proposed so far, but give you, the residents, the chance to have your say on what you would like to see there.

This is the start of a month-long survey which will be available on line, or on paper, whichever your prefer.

Don’t miss out! Of course we won’t be able to meet everyone’s needs.  The site just isn’t that big!  However, we will try to accommodate as much as we physically and financially can.  This is a huge project for Farnborough and we have one chance to get it right.

For that to happen, we need your help.

The times of the drop-in events are as follows:

Today, Tuesday 8 January
-  Princes Mead Shopping Centre from 10.00 a.m. till 2.00 p.m.
-  Farnborough Leisure Centre from 4.00 p.m. till 8.00 p.m.

Saturday 12 January - Princes Mead Shopping Centre from 9.00 a.m. till midday.

You can also have your say on the council’s website, at www.rushmoor.gov.uk
